The Liverpool Sonnet Walk of April 2008 brought together a number of talented artists from a number of artistic genres. We were very pleased to have the support of many of the same talented individuals for Shakespeare in the Streets this year and hope to continue working with local artists from all genres, bringing the work of The Bard to new audiences in the Northwest.

The sonnet walk brought the work of Shakespeare to the streets of Liverpool in 2008. The weekend of performances was directed by Abigail Anderson who has now produced two consecutive years of innovative theatre on the streets of the city. The 2008 event was brought to a close at the Albert Docks with audience members were able to leave their feedback for the company and actors. Here is a selection of what they said:

Exciting, engaging, brilliant ideas, great actors, lots of fun – this is the way all Shakespeare should feel – accessible & relatable.

Highly enjoyable, children could relate to the emotions expressed, lovely tour of the city and its architecture – many thanks.
